Betwixt city and suburb, with access to both

“It’s an area coming of age,” Michael Bratty says of The Queensway and Zorra Street location of The Remington Group’s two-building site, Park Towers, which is the latest addition to its Etobicoke master-planned project IQ Condominiums.
It was that potential that drew the developer to the site, as well as its proximity to both downtown Toronto and Mississauga, with a lifestyle that sits between the two.
“It’s not as expensive as it is living right in the city, but that lifestyle is available to you,” says the president of Remington’s high-rise division.
As for community perks, the Gardiner Expressway and the waterfront are near. The neighbourhood, meanwhile, is already undergoing change as IQ, with its 1,400 units, progresses. Park Tower residents are sure to have plenty to keep themselves busy and entertained; here are some nearby opportunities.
Park Towers got its name for a reason. “There’s a park literally outside your front door,” says Mr. Bratty, who adds that the almost-1.5-acre planned public park will be open for the project’s completion. That’s not it, though. TTC has a bus stop in front of the site.
Walk east and just a few minutes along you’ll come to Islington Avenue, home to all the makings of a date night or casual evening out. Catch up on the latest blockbuster at the Cineplex Cinemas Queensway or grab a meal at Sushi Kaji, Posticino Ristorante, Kelsey’s or Milestones. Head west, and you’ll come across Queensway Fish and Chips, Sobeys, Winners and Swiss Chalet. “The Queensway has an abundance of retail and restaurants,” Mr. Bratty says, adding that those components are only expanding, with new amenities coming in. “It’s starting to regain a real sense of community.”
For more upscale shopping needs, there’s Sherway Gardens, about a half-hour walk west from IQ — or just five minutes if you decide to drive.
Offering what Mr. Bratty calls “first-class retail shopping,” the mall has more than 200 shops, including Holt Renfrew, Abercromie & Fitch, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Sporting Life, Gap and so on (coming soon: Nordstrom). Because you need to fill the closets of your new suite somehow, don’t you?
